1. Make sure you have set up the Read More feature

Before you employ the Newsflash module you need to make sure the articles you are going to pull are either really short, or you have set up the read more feature. If you have long articles and do not set up the read more feature, then the entire article will be displayed in your module, and clearly that would be too long. Read Using the Joomla Read More Feature tutorial for instructions on how to set this up.
